CrossFit is defined as constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity.

CrossFit was the first entity to define the term “fitness”, defining fitness as ‘Increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains.’ A broad and inclusive program, Crossfit prepares you for life! CrossFit increases ones own general, physical preparedness, or “GPP”.

In laymen’s terms, it prepares you for life, whether it be preparing a fireman or a law enforcement agent to perform highly demanding physical tasks, or for rehabilitation for the 80 year old grandma with the “never-say-die” attitude, who loves to play with her grandchildren.

Crossfit is a combination of: weightlifting, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning at its most basic form. Mix them all as you see fit, routine is the enemy.

GYMNASTICS

Our body weight movements, depend solely on using ones own body to perform physical tasks, for example: sitting down, standing up, pulling oneself over an obstacle, jumping, climbing etc. It is essentially the way our bodies were designed to move.Β At a more technical level, gymnastics can involve ring training, pull up bars, pirouettes, handstands, flips and rope climbs.

WEIGHTLIFTING

CrossFit encompasses aspects from power lifting, Olympic lifting and strong-man training to assist with every day life.

Realistically we don’t expect you press 200kg over head, however every now and then, life will require you to move something heavy – help a mate push his car up the road, help mum lift the fridge or the couch.

We teach you how to do it safely with productive application of force, or simply put, with the correct technique, so that even at an old age you can be fit, strong and have a great body awareness.
